Rezones and Land Use Changes for 2030 General Plan Consistency
After four years of public engagement and hard work, the City of Sacramento adopted the 2030 General Plan on March 3, 2009. One of the top priority implementation measures of the plan is to rezone properties consistent with the Land Use and Urban Form Diagram included in the new General Plan.

Florin Road Corridor Plan
In order to implement the City’s new 2030 General Plan as well as the County’s new draft General Plan, the City has partnered with the County of Sacramento to promote coordinated planning and economic revitalization along the corridor. Entitled the Florin Road Corridor Plan, the City plans to move forward with specific actions in early fall of 2010. These include rezones, creation of a design review district, South Area Community Plan amendments, etc. For more information, see the following link:

Climate Action Plan
The City of Sacramento is developing a Climate Action Plan (CAP) that will identify how the City and the broader community can reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The CAP will also identify steps we need to take to prepare and adapt to climate change. For more information, see the following link:

Green Building Task Force
The City and the County of Sacramento are committed to achieving local sustainability goals. Stakeholder involvement is a critical component of attaining success. The Green Building Task Force was designed to provide a method and a structure to conduct research, gather input and work collaboratively to develop practical and innovative recommendations for our region.
