View of High School SummitOver 150 students and teachers from 16 different public and private schools throughout Sacramento attended the event. At the Library Galleria in downtown, students listened to a presentation about the new General Plan and then were given the opportunity to tell the City what they wanted a future Sacramento to look like.

Group exerciseBeginning with interactive exercises, including a visual preferences survey, students let City staff know which housing, transportation, recreation and shopping options they preferred. Students also told the City what was missing in their neighborhoods and what type of places and services they wanted to see.

Mayor answers questions In addition to the summit, the Mayor held a press conference for the students where she answered a variety of questions. Student reporters asked questions about topics ranging from flooding to crime and safety.
